Jessenia Alvarez

Sound became personal for Jessenia Alvarez before it became part of her work. After her mother experienced a stroke, Jessenia began to see how sound could reach places that conversation sometimes couldn’t. She also noticed something else: for many people, especially those whose minds move quickly, sitting quietly with their thoughts can feel less like peace and more like work. Sound offered another doorway in. That discovery became part of a much larger practice centered on attention, transition, and the many ways human beings find their way back to themselves.

Before entering the wellness space, Jessenia spent 21 years in the intelligence and defense world, including six years working in Iraq and the Middle East and later serving in executive leadership in data, intelligence, and artificial intelligence. Her work required her to notice patterns, hold complexity, and remain present when the picture was incomplete. She eventually realized those same capacities belonged somewhere more human.

Today, Jessenia is an ICF Master Certified Coach specializing in neurodiversity and life transitions, with additional training and certification in sound and trauma-informed practice. She trained as a meditation teacher through The Path and is trained through Zendo Project/MAPS in supporting people navigating non-ordinary states of consciousness. Her meditation and sound work is spacious, grounded, and deliberately accessible. There is no expectation that you empty your mind, become perfectly still, or be particularly good at meditation. Sound, breath, sensation, movement, silence and even distraction can all become places to begin.Jessenia’s work is LGBTQ+ affirming and welcomes neurodivergent minds, people moving through major transitions, and anyone who has ever quietly wondered whether traditional meditation simply wasn’t made for the way their mind works.

She doesn’t believe there is one right way into stillness. Sometimes silence opens the door. Sometimes sound does.
